Review | Elf Cream Blush in Heartbreaker

Evening lovelies :)

As part of my Elf Haul I purchased my first cream blush. Elf have a good selection of shades to chose from.
I picked Heartbreaker as it seemed like a bright pink mixed with coral colour. It was hard to decide which blush to pick as obviously you are going from online swatches online, however I did my research and decided that Heartbreaker was my favorite from the blushes.

I absolutely love the packaging of the cream blush. It looks professional and simple. I think it looks like it is worth a lot more than you pay. It is smooth to hold and has a matte finish, I just love it! The bottom of the pot is transparent plastic so you can see the colour of the blush if necessary and the lid twists off easily.

The cream blush itself feels like a soft mousse. It is actually very fun to play with! :)
I apply it by warming it up with my fingertips and lightly dabbing it onto the apples of my cheeks, then blending. It dries in a powder finish and does not feel greasy at all, which was a worry I had. It is very lightweight and does not look like I have heavy make up on. I have worn this a few times now and it has lasted all day, even when the weather was warmer!

I love the colour of Heartbreaker. It looks slightly scary in the pot but when swatched it is a lot tamer.
It is very easy to blend this out into a softer pink as shown on the left swatch but I have also layered up the blush to create a more intense look.

I really recommend these, especially if it is your first cream blush as it is easy to apply!
I purchased the cream blush when Elf has a promotion on so did not pay the full price. To be honest I have no experience with cream blush so cannot compare it to any other products or say if it is worth the price.
It is definitely one of the higher end products from Elf's Studio Line.

Have you tried any cream blushes or one from Elf?

  4. I have their cream blush in Flirt and I personally didn't get on with it - felt far too playdough-y like to be a cream blush /: Perhaps this shade is different? xo

    1. Maybe they do. I think I've read that somewhere too. This is soft and slightly spongey but not play doughy! Xx

  7. I really fancied buying this cream blusher last time I had an e.l.f haul (http://lovesmilesandbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/haul-elf-cosmetics.html) but I chickened out, maybe I'll go for it next time they have a promotion.

    Great review :)
