A Justin Bieber Related Rant.

Update- since originally writing this Bieber has got even more idiotic, google him. It will provide a lot of amusement/rage.

*WARNING* Justin Bieber related dislike mentioned in this blog post.

Before I rant I want to make it clear that I love my job and these are all my own views and opinions. I love the atmosphere on event days and working with the public.

I've never been a Bieber fan but no matter what's on I have fun because it's the audience that make it fun. Bieber was a big day at work. We started early in the morning on the first day London before the doors opened at 6.30pm. Bieber was due on at 8.30pm. I had a nonstop day but the crowd was full of young girls who were so excited, I think I actually started to catch Bieber fever!

I even wore the 'Swaggy' hat all day!

To cut a long story short it got to 10pm and Bieber was still a no show. There was no reason given to the public, but his crew made it clear to us why he wasn't on stage and wouldn't be til he was ready or was dragged by management.. Nobody had a clue what was going on, it had been hours since the support acts, the audience were past the point of patient, there was a LOT of booing, Michael Jackson songs kept being played, it was complete madness. I found it stressful having to try to help parents and sobbing kids, people were leaving because of how late it was.

10.20pm-lights went down, cue deafening screams, this time it was a 10 minute countdown that came on screen. 10.35pm-Bieber came on, here was a lot of empty seats. I watched him fly on with a pair of wings and stupid sunglasses then walked out, I found the whole thing awful. I tried to explain to parents waiting when to be honest I'd no idea. There was nothing said by Bieber, no apology, just 'Lets Rock This London'.

I imagine the show was entertaining, the original set was 1 hour 45 min and I think he did about an hour, cutting most of his popular songs. Artists can play til 11pm before being fined every minute they go over  All the money paid and the audience would've not seen much. However I'm sure the 'Beliebers' loved it. (Cheapest ticket £50, 30 second meet&greet over £300).

I spent time talking to members of the tour crew. I won't repeat exactly what was said as I don't want to be done for slander, but it is was made very obvious that he has no respect. Crew are not treated well, they have been abused by him and he has a horrid attitude to everyone. I think if any other person treated people the way he supposedly has they would get in a lot of trouble.

Bieber is a role model and idol for so many people. They are obsessed with him. Remember the #cut4bieber trend? It can be worrying how much they idolise him and see him almost as a God. I was so disappointed by his lack of respect for the crew, staff and audience. I can't believe there was no apology and am fuming for people who spent a huge amount of money to see him as I've been told he will be late every night of his tour.

In my opinion if you're a role model then you should act like one. I know he is young but press recently shows him doing drugs, getting kicked out of nightclubs with underage friends, etc. We had people refunding tickets because they didn't want their child seeing someone like this. People like him and Rihanna anger me. There are so many talented people that would do anything to be in their position and they completely abuse it. Young people are easily influenced, the idea of them thinking this behavior and attitude is normal isn't right.

Being famous must be difficult in many ways, but don't be an idiot about it. Having a ridiculous amount of money does not give somebody the right to treat others that badly, I'd love to know why Bieber felt it was alright to leave 20,000 people waiting for 2 hours. I hope I never have to experience so many upset children and disappointed fans again.

If I could say anything to Bieber I would tell him to respect  the people who got him where he is today, without the fans, staff and people like me who work tirelessly to run his gigs. He is just another human. He doesn't have the right to have the attitude he does. His PR team have done brilliantly creating the 'Belieber' idea and making sure he RT's the right things, but that doesn't stop people seeing the real him. His millions doesn't make him better than anyone else. I hope he realises how awful his attitude isand wises up. An arrogant teenager can only get away with things for so long. It's so easy to be replaced these days.

Justin Bieber you are just a 19 year old whose world could be the complete opposite tomorrow if you don't start showing some respect and genuine care for your fans and people who work for and around you. I'll be honest I do not get the Bieber obsession but for the sake of the fans who would do anything for him, I hope he sorts himself out. I'd also like to point out there where NO technical difficulties and there were only two scheduled support acts, Bieber was due on at 8.30pm and rolled up at 10.25pm.

Thoughts?

  1. I've never liked him at all, he's always come across a a spoilt brat. Fame went to his head very quickly. It's a shame that he's someone little kids look up to :/

  2. Oh my, this sounds horrible! I've never been interested in Justin Bieber at all but he seems to have a huuuge attitude problem! How can you be this late to a show without having a proper reason? This is just disrespectful.
I truly appreciate your honesty and criticism!
It's sad that people like him and Rihanna (as you mentioned her as well) are role models for a too wide majority of children! :(

  3. I've never been able to stand him. I don't like how he carries himself as an artist and as person in the media x

  4. He's acting like a stupid little kid, which is exactly what he is. If he acts this way, he lose all of his 'beliebers', and I for one will be very happy! x

  5. I completely agree. I saw him on Alan Carr when he very first started and he seemed quite sweet and humble - since he got all those crazy fans, it's all changed. Attention would go to any 18 year olds head but I can never believe how an artist that is supposed to love music and touring can keep an audience waiting that long. Awful, and the team around him shouldn't let him get away with it.
You have a fab job though! Xx

  6. Don't get me wrong, I like justin bieber, but after seeing him mime at his last world tour concert, I decided not to purchase a ticket to see him this time round(glad I didn't waste £50+ to see him now). I used to respect him, but after what he has done in the UK this time round, I have little respect left for him. Firstly, his stupidity to try to get underage people into a club in London, and then say 'worst birthday' just shows how he thinks he has the right to do what he wants due to his fame. Then to leave fans waiting for 2 hours!! Just a joke. I agree he should respect the people who got him where he is! Rant over :L great post also highight of my tuesday morning :D

  8. I wonder why all the crew/anyone else doesn't just round on him and tell him exactly what they think of him - he wouldn't be stupid enough to fire all of them (or would he?). Someone should absolutely take him aside and 'have a word' at how unprofessional it is. It's like he thinks that because he's made it, he has no need to continue putting in any effort.
I am spitting nails on your behalf - it's arrogant, blinkered, and his ghastly sense of entitlement just because he's in some yes-men bubble where everyone kowtows to him. Bellend.

  9. I literally cannot believe this! I wouldn't call myself a 'fan', but yeah, i listen to his music, but all he seems to have had whilst he's been over in the UK is bad publicity from acting like a spoilt child. And as for leaving fans waiting until half past ten?! These kids should have been on their way home to bed by then! What a disgrace, so glad I didn't have tickets, but I think everyone should be refunded their hard-earned money for his overpriced tickets. It's a shame when fame goes to someones head... xxx

  12. it's so weird how he pretends on twitter to be so humble and so modest, and he can leave such adoring fans waiting. it's an awful attitude and shows how fame has gone to his head. people pay ridiculous amounts for the ticket, and then the day out to london as well is a lot of money - he should show more respect,

  13. I have never really been a fan of Justin Bieber but after reading this I'm disgusted with him. How he could leave his fans waiting 2 hours then just show up with no apology. The poor kids left waiting there and then had to come home must of been heartbroken, its meant to be an exciting time going to a concert. I hope everyone gets a refund and Bieber is brought back down to earth with a bump! xx

  14. I honestly don't see why it matters. He didn't come on late to my show in Birmingham and the show finished at 11:10pm. Surely that's late enough for these "poor little girls who have to revise for their irrelevant SATs in July?"

People overreact because he's Justin Bieber and they just don't like him for whatever reason. Completely unfair on him.

    1. It matters because he was over two hours later with no reason and no apology. If you were over two hours late to your job then you'd get into trouble. Especially if you had the attitude he did last night.
The show finished and he hadn't played his full set, most people had missed there transport home.
I don't think it's right to pay to see a concert and have to experience what happened last night. I'd have thought exactly the same if it was any artist, but the fact he knows how young his audience is makes it worse.

  15. I think it's totally shocking and ridiculous -doesn't look like he appreciates the position he's in at all. I like the odd song of his but never been a proper fan, I just don't like his demeanor at all and the way he acts... this has made me dislike him even more, to let his fans down so badly like that.

  18. It is really terrible. Some famous people don't seem to realise that it is because of their fans that they are where they are. Don't get me started on Rihanna either, every time I see her I have a rant about her to the nearest person next to me. She's a disgrace and I just hope that the famous people are a lot more respectful and better role models by the time I have children who will be looking up to them!

  19. I've heard from very reliable sources how rude he is to his whole crew too, and his mum. It's believable that he used to be a sweet, innocent little boy but you can really see how the industry and the media has changed him. Thought the media have obviously had a huge effect on his personality, he has absolutely no right to act like he did. He needs to understand that most of the 20,000 people that went to see him spent valuable money on those tickets, just for their children to be disappointed. I think Bieber needs a serious reality check and attitude adjustment. Send me whatever hate you will, I used to be a Belieber too, but luckily I snapped out of the spell he's clearly got every teenage girl under. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna hear people saying "oh you're not a true Belieber, true Beliebers are forever" or "you're just jealous of his success". Beliebers, if you think this, you also need serious reality checks. Justin Bieber has been molded to look the way he is in the media, everything you see related to him, every interview, every tweet has been approved by his PR to make sure he doesn't say anything that could taint his "perfect" image. And if this is what success does to you, I'm sure most of the sane people in this world would definitely not want it.

  20. I'm glad to say that I've never heard a Justin Bieber song as of yet, well not that I know of anyway. He sounds like a complete gobshite, glad I'm not a teenage girl anymore, I might have been sucked into the whole hype about it. It was Busted we were all mad for in my day and they put on a great show in Wembley Stadium for us. I can't stand egotistic people and this guy sounds like he needs to crawl out of his own hole.

  21. I never understood both, the bieber craze and the bieber hatred. I always believed he was hated by adults because of his singing and loved by kids because they thought he was cute! Anyhow, I was never a fan but I never even used the word 'hate' for him as it is a strong word and I didn't feel it was appropriate. Now I have a reason to hate him. Never knew he abuses the crew and makes little girls cry :/ he's clearly taking it all for granted!

  22. It makes me well and truly sick knowing someone as big ad Justin Bieber turn up late to a concert, especially in the biggest city in the UK. I hate the guy and his music, I've never been a fan and I'll never will be.
It is unfair on small children who would've had their hopes built up to see the guy and then they're shattered because he didn't show up on time with no reason.
Also having a bad attitude to the crew at the arena is also sickening, its not fair on you guys when you have to work so hard to make sure everything is in check, no appreciation what so ever. He needs to wake up to reality and be thankful for where he's got in life due to his fans.

  23. I think this is a sticky situation... You never really know what accounted for his late entrance. Maybe "technical difficulties" was just a cover, but that doesn't automatically mean that he was just dicking around backstage instead of doing his job. I agree that it came across as unprofessional, but I'm not sure that gives us the right to speculate.

    Just my two cents! :)

  25. Wow! I've never been interested in Justin Bieber or his music...I'm 26 and maybe some people my age like his stuff but he's never been my kind of thing. I know a lot of younger peeps really rate him though and I can only imagine how upset the little ones at the gig must have been :(. It sounds pretty bad to be honest...it's one thing being that late but another not apologising or explaining anything. If it was a genuine reason, I'm sure people would understand.

  26. He wasn't even 2 hours late so stop saying that he was 50 minutes late not 2 hours. You're not even a Belieber so why would you buy Justin merchandice if you don't really like him. I was at that concert and it was the best concert of my life, Justin has so much respect for his team members he is just having a hard time atm. He didn't take underage friends into the club with him and he didn't get kicked out he left because of the paparazzi. So next timr you want to hate on him get your facts right. Oh and another thing go on his instagram and read what really happened in his party. Also he cares so much about his Beliebers and other fans fame hasn't gone to his head. So just shut up.

    1. He was two hours late, and he is claiming otherwise to save face.

She was wearing the merch because it's her damned job to do so. Staff members at venues nearly always wear the merch of the band/musician playing that night.

Have you ever spoken to his team members? And I don't think it matters that he's "having a bad time" -- everyone has problems, and it's no excuse to treat people like shit.

He DID attempt to take under-age friends into a nightclub with him for his birthday (I'm nearly certain that one of them was Will Smith's son), and he was REFUSED ENTRY; yet the club were pleasant enough to offer him an undeserved apology.

So, next time you want to tell someone to "just shut up", you may want to get your own facts correct, rather than making erroneous assertions about a girl who works God knows how many hours helping prepare for inconsiderate, egotistical "superstars" like Justin Bieber.

    2. Did you even bother to read the blog? As Anon has already pointed out, you would of realized she had the merch because she works for the venue, which means she would of had a lot more of the 'facts' then you do. Try actually reading something before mouthing off.

  28. Hi Ellie,

I live near to where the Nottingham gig took place on the weekend. It made me very uncomfortable to see lots of 12 to 15 year old girls going around the surrounding streets in their pajamas at 10am in the morning. I wondered how many had slept there all night. What also made me uncomfortable was the sheer number of old perverts that seemed to be hanging around and just watching the young girls.

I have been backstage at the O2, and I have even seen major arguments and fights kick off moments before bands were due on stage. However, they still got on stage on time, did the job and got off again. In a way I feel sorry for Justin Beaver, because it is not fair for him to have this much pressure and attention on him. That kind of thing is bound to warp a boy. But it will all come across as pretty contemptuous and shitty to all those fans that keep him afloat.

BTW, I would not be suprised if your comments get quoted in the press tomorrow, so you might want to park this post out of view so your employers can't see it.

  29. Some girls are so deluded.. I dont think you realise that you are minority, you think that your 1000 "fans" on twitter can top Justin Biebers 30 million? You are just an average girl trying to make it big by slating others. Why hate on the lad when he is more succesful than you will EVER be? As much as you try you will never be liked as much as he is, you will never be as rich as he is. You're just a jelous human being and clearly this blog is getting you no where in life when 12 year old justin bieber fans have a bigger fan base than you. Get a real job hun, dont waste your time.

    1. Where do I even begin!?
My twitter followers are not fans? I don't know why you would call them that, clearly you don't understand social media. I'm not trying to make it big in anyway. I explained what actually happened, I have a real job. Blogging is a hobby. It's my blog and I write what I want too when I want too. I will never be as rich as him and I think calling him successful depends what you think success is. I don't think somebody with his attitude and behaviour is successful. I think he's a bratty teen who is very good at creating a great public image but is starting to reveal his true colours. This blog isn't being written to get me anywhere. It's written because I enjoy it. 12 year old "beliebers" don't have fan bases either. You all just obsess over someone together. Bit cult like really. I might never be liked by as many people as he is but I definitely won't be hated by as many people as he is.
