Review | Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Polish

I am a nail polish addict. But I am reigning in my addiction. I recently went through my stash and got rid of all the colours I no longer like and the ones that have gone off. This obviously means I have the right to restock.

Barry M is my go to brand for nail polish. They have a huge range of colours and are the first to bring nail trends to the drug store, such as the textured polishes that I really like and think will be fab for spring.
On a recent Boots trip I picked up four of the Gelly Hi-Shine polishes, it took me a while to pick the shades I wanted, but to be honest I am pretty much guaranteed to go back and buy the rest of them.

The range is full of lovely shades, I picked up four of them which are in shades I knew I would always wear. Greenberry is a creamy aqua turquoise colour that will look great in Spring (IF IT TURNS UP). Prickly Pear is a milky light lilac shade that I adore as I love pastels. Blueberry is a beautiful creamy cornflower blue, it is my favourite and reminds me of a bolder Ceramic Blue. Papaya is a slightly neon orange based coral, if I ever start to tan then this will look gorgeous.

The Gelly Hi-Shine polishes are called 'gelly' because they look like a similar finish to the shellac treatments, incredibly shiney and opaque. The polishes are quite opaque after one coat as the formula is a bit thicker than usual but two coats is what you need for a perfect look. I love these and will buy more but I have noticed some of them have a strange and strong smell, let me know if you think this too!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine polishes cost £3.99 but are usually on offer in Boots or Superdrug.
Have you tried any of these?

    1. Better than standard Barry M. But I get bored and change colour quickly. And my job involves lots of things that damage my hands and nails but they still last well for a few days when I'm working! Xx

  7. Blueberry is my absolute favourite shade! I've just discovered the Barry M range and have bought far too many. I didn't see the Greenberry one though, but it looks gorgeous, so I guess I will just have to go and buy it! x

  13. I was shopping the other day and the shop assistant asked me what brand my nails were, they were Esse Bikini so Teeny, but she thought they were Blueberry Barry M, I can see now why she thought that. The colours are all so pretty and perfect for spring!

  16. I have the first 3 and they are ALL I ever use I just switch between the 3 my favourite nail polishes EVER. I used to not like Barry M cause they didn't use to dry on my nails well but these do.
I need to try the coral one now haha x

  18. As a student who can't afford to get gels done I thought I'd give these a go and bought grapefruit! I love it, it lasts so much better than regular nail varnishes on me and the finish is so nice. The shades you picked are gorgeous, I definitely need to expand!
