Review | Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation

I bought the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation a couple of months ago and didn't use it enough to form an opinion but the past few weeks I've been reaching for it every day and really like it.
Match Perfection claims to have skin adapting technology so that it adapts to match the shade of your skin tone and leaves a flawless but natural finish. Match Perfection is also enhanced with blue sapphires to give an illuminating and light perfecting glow to the skin.

Match Perfection is packaged into a glass bottle with blue lid and writing to show the blue sapphire elements. I really like the bottle as it makes it look a lot more expensive than a drug store product. There are 11 shades available, which I think is quite good for a drug store foundation, although if you are super pale or have darker skin you might not find a shade to match your skin.

I have Ivory, which is a good match for my pale skin, I'll be honest and say I don't believe this has skin adapting technology, but the foundation matches really well. Match Perfection is a medium coverage and is a finish that is halfway between natural and satin. It has SPF 18 too, always a bonus. It is definitely not matte and does illuminate my skin and stop it from looking dull! It covers redness and small blemishes, I could easily get away with not wearing concealer as long as my skin was not having huge breakouts. It lasts about 6-8 hours, which can be prolonger with primer and powder. I wouldn't chose to wear this if I was working a long shift or going on a night out, but for an every day foundation it is great and I really do like it.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation costs £6.99 and I will definitely be repurchasing when my bottle runs out! Have you tried this foundation?

  1. I haven't used a Rimmel foundation in years and years, I'll definitely have to give this a look next time I go shopping- i love the sound of the blue sapphires in it. Who doesn't want glowing skin!

  3. This is one of my favourite foundations! I actually think it's such a good foundation for pale people as they have a few different variations, I use light porcelain which is the lightest shade they do & it's almost a perfect match! :)

  7. I never really believed in those foundations that adapt to your skin tone. I guess I'm just really skeptical. BUT this does look like a good foundation in general even without that technology. I haven't tried any Rimmel foundations ever, but I just started using their Wake Me Up concealer and I LOVE it, so maybe I'll give their other products a shot.

    1. I completely agree about the adaption bit. It seems a bit too good to be true. It is a good foundation especially for the price! I love that concealer too :) Xx

    1. that's such a shame! I guess the finish wouldn't work on some skin types xx

  9. I've been using this is the same shade. It looks so dark and scary in the bottle compared to my glow in the dark skin but I think it must have form of adaptive magic going on because it blends in so well :)
