Cash for Clothes with MusicMagpie

As always I am desperate need of a clear out, you might have noticed I have been doing a fair bit of shopping lately which means I need to get rid of a few things to make way for the new bits! I've found things in my wardrobe that I haven't worn for years but am clinging on to in the hope they might come back into fashion or I might fall in love with them again. I used to put all the things I didn't want on eBay to make a few pounds back but it can take a long time and you don't earn much money so I never tend to sell on there anymore. With all the different rules and relying on the Post Office eBay can be dodgy at times, don't get me started on the feedback system and people complaining they haven't received an item when you know they have!

I have used Music Magpie before for selling CD's, games and other electronic things I didn't want anymore but am now going to be selling my clothes through the website too. Cash for Clothes is a new part of Music Magpie website where you can enter the brand and style of an item and get an instant price for it. You won't earn as much as you would if you sold the items through eBay or a car boot sale, for example a Topshop skater dress sells for about £1.10. However I think it's a great way to earn a little bit of money, especially if you have a lot to sell. It doesn't take anywhere near as much time as using eBay and you don't have to get up stupidly early on a Sunday morning.

If you've got a bunch of clothes to sell and need to shift a few old albums and games then I think it is definitely worth checking this out. The best bit about Cash for Clothes is that they have a courier service that will come and pick up your stuff at a time that suits you! No Royal Mail! You can also use the drop off and send service where you can leave your items at one of 5000 shops and they will be sent on for free.

Have you used Music Magpie before? Would you use Cash For Clothes?

  1. I had no idea that they had started doing this! I've just had a clearout and taken all my things to a local charity shop, but had I known this, I would have done this!!

    1. Same! I attempted it only a few weeks ago and it either told me that the clothes were too old to make money, or they gave me pennies for the items. It's barely worth it unfortunately :( Wish there was an easier way to sell unwanted clothes because I have loads and Ebay can be a right faff. Plus it costs to post an advert on there too, even if it doesn't sell. lol Pain in the bum. xxo
