Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm* £20

If you aren't aware of Balance Me by now then get yourself straight onto their website because your skin will love you for it! For a while I have been using cream cleansers at night time after removing the bulk of my make up with a micellar water (or the occasional face wipe, oops!)  I have dry skin that needs regular exfoliation and hydrating products to keep all the nasty dry patches at bay, regular cleansing milks or creams can sometimes leave my skin feeling tight or lacking in moisture.

The Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm is the first cleansing balm I have tried and to be honest I wasn't sure what to expect! I love the packaging, it's clean and inviting. The tube means you can dispense the right amount easily and hygienically. The balm is full of all natural skin loving ingredients including almond oil, beeswax, cocoa butter and other oils to keep the skin hydrated, along with the oatmeal to gently exfoliate the skin. Cleanse and Smooth has a slightly sweet smell that some might not like but I find it calming and not overpowering.

Cleanse and Smooth feels slightly oily and gel like at first. To apply the balm you have to warm a small amount in your fingers for a few seconds, smooth it onto the face and neck and then message the balm into the skin with circular movements for about 30 seconds. This lets the oatmeal lightly 'polish' the skin. (Then the part that is my favourite bit.) Next massage warm water into the skin, this turns the balm into a creamy texture that feels lovely and smooth on the skin, you can massage this gently over the eyes as well to remove make up. The last step is to remove the balm, you can use the muslin cloth provided but I prefer to use a flannel.

I just love this so much! It removes every last bit of dirt from my face and leaves me with the smoothest skin that has been gently exfoiliated and softened by the balm. It doesn't sting the eyes at all and works really well to remove all make up, even waterproof mascara. It leaves me with actual glowing skin, it's such a lovely product to use after a long day or if you have had a lot of make up on. I thought the richness of the balm or the exfoiliating oatmeal might irritate the redness in my skin but if anything it smooths it out and calms my skin down. For oily skins I think this would work well as a cleanser every few nights as it would be too heavy for daily use. If you have dry or normal skin then this might well be the perfect night time cleanser for you, it definitely has been a "holy grail" product for me.

Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm costs £20, which I think is well worth the money and I will definitely repurchasing.

  2. I really love this! I've just bought my mum the You Beauty balance Me box for Christmas and I've pinched the mini version that comes in that, naughty I know but she doesn't use products like this so I might as well make use of it :)

  5. Really like the sound of this. I would have problems with dry skin etc so I can be pretty hesitant on buying skincare.
    Very tempted on this product.
