I still cannot believe I am even blogging about being in Orlando, it's such a surreal experience and I hope you don't mind me spamming you with all the posts, pictures and tweets about it! Today was our first of two days at Universal. Universal Studios has two parks and today we went to the Islands Of Adventure, mainly to go to the Harry Potter land. There wasn't much at IOA that we were interested in apart from the Harry Potter section as the other lands were Dr Seuss, Superheros and a cartoon section.
The Harry Potter land was absolutely incredible, they have made Hogsmeade look so realistic with all the shops and the huge Hogwarts building. The Harry Potter ride called The Forbidden Jorurney was absolutely amazing. I don't like most rides but this was the best ride I have ever been on, we did it twice! Me and Amber queued up to experience Ollivanders and ended up buying ourselves wands so we can duel! The Butterbeer was so much nicer than the one in the UK studios.
I was brave enough (I'm that much of a wimp) to go on the Jurrasic Park ride which I think I did enjoy even though I got soaked! It's a ride with a big log flume style drop at the end, which I'd never have done in England but the fact it was Orlando and I wouldn't get another chance made me do it. We had a fab lunch in the 'Dino Digs' restaurant and all had chicken strips and chips. It was really warm and the view over Universal and the lake was gorgeous. After this we did the rapids where you cannot come off dry, then me and Amber did a few of the rides in the Dr Seuss land whilst Jack and Dad did the super massive Hulk rollarcoaster.
We came back to our villa to have a bit of a rest before going to a pizza restaurant for dinner. The smallest pizza size was 14inches, they were so huge but tasted amazing. All the food and drink portions in America are massive but so much cheaper than England too. To end the day we headed to Downtown Disney where I managed to spend a lot of money very quickly in The World of Disney store. Tomorrow is shopping day, Sephora here I come.
