Marc Jacobs Honey*
If you haven't shopped at Fragrance Direct before then you are going to want to head straight over there and check out the bargains you can find. They sell a huge range of brands and products, so when I was offered the chance to try out two summer scents I spent a good hour trying to pick and decided on two fragrances that I've been longing to try out for a while.
Honey is one of the newest fragrances to join the Marc Jacobs perfume family and I was first drawn to it because of the fun packaging, which is definitely a love hate thing because I imagine if you are terrified of bee's you probably aren't going to want to smell this. I think it's really unique and interesting, it's the first yellow bottle/bee themed fragrance I've ever owned!
It's definitely a great summer scent that reminds me of being out in the sun with floral and fruity notes, with orange blossom, honeysuckle, peach, apricot, honey, vanilla and smooth woods. It's a difficult fragrance to describe as I find it warm and light, sweet but not sickly, fresh and just unique!
It doesn't smell like you are completely spraying a bottle of honey on yourself, which may disappoint honey lovers but it's a beautiful perfume that stays noticeable on my skin for 6/8 hours.
Prada Candy is the original scent of the Candy family which has since has grown with a couple of newer additions. The packaging is sophisticated, sleek and very feminine, I love the colour blocking on bottle with the black then pink and gold.
It's a strong scent with notes of vanilla, musk, benzoin (extracted from the Benzoin tree for it's slight oriental scent) and caramel. It reminds me of salted caramel or melted sugar so it's definitely not for the faint hearted! I love really sweet fragrances but this one is much more grown up and not sickly or overpowering as it has a hint of woodiness to balance out the sweetness.
My only disappoint with this scent is that it although you only need a tiny amount it seems to disappear after about 5 hours. It's strong and noticeable for the first 4/5 hours but then vanishes.
Candy has become my summer evening fragrance of choice because of it's sophisticated and almost sexy feel!
Definitely head to Fragrance Direct to check out their fragrance bargains!
