Review | Balance Me Rose Otto Facial Oil

Balance Me Rose Otto Facial OilBalance Me Rose Otto Facial Oil

Balance Me Rose Otto Facial Oil* £32

Balance Me are a family run British brand that have been around for about 9 years but have won so many awards already and are growing quickly in the skincare market. Balance Me products use active botanicals, natural formulations and essential oils to create products that really work. The Cleanse and Smooth Balm and Super Moisturising Hand Cream have become two of my favourite skin care products over the past year!

The Balance Me Rose Otto Facial Oil is a 100% natural oil with skin strengthening ingredients that work to calm, hydrate and protect all skin types. It's full of ingredients that nourish and hydrate my skin, it has stopped me from developing dry patches and works really well to calm any sensitivity or redness I may have.
Some of the key oils included in the Rose Otto Facial Oil are-

Olive Oil to help the product sink into the skin quickly and regulate oil production.
Rose Otto Oil streghtens the skin and restores natural moisture levels.
Rosehip Oil, which is great for anti aging and calming sensitive skin.
Grapeseed Oil to soothe the skin with it's anti-flammatory properties.
Camellia Seed Oil penetrates the skin quickly and is very good for nourishing and moisturising the skin.
Borage Oil works to keep the skin hydrated and supple.

The pipette packaging is great to easily dispense the few drops I need so I don't waste any product. The glass bottle feels really luxurious. I apply this in the evening after cleansing and before my moisturiser. I massage three drops onto my face and neck, it sinks in completely within 10 minutes. It smells gorgeous and is incredibly nourishing. I can really see a difference in my skin the next day if I use this compared to when I don't.
The main thing I love is that it calms the redness I have, it soothes the redness whilst keeping my skin nourished, hydrated and just more happy!

The Balance Me Rose Otto Facial Oil has become a bit of an essential for me, I reach for it most evenings and have got to the stage where I do not remember my skincare routine without it.
It's on the pricey side but I've been using this most days for three months and haven't even got through half the bottle yet!

Have you tried anything from Balance Me?

ps. check out this fab competition Balance Me are running through July and August!

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner* £18.50

Possibly one of the most exciting and hyped up launches of 2014 so far is the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner. I'm a big Benefit fan so when they announced that a 'gamechanging' product was on it's way I thought about it pretty much every day until it was announced! Since attending the launch I have been using the liner almost every day to see if it lives up to the hype.

The They're Real Push Up Liner is an extension to the bestselling mascara and starts a little family along with the new They're Real Remover that I'll review separately in the future. The packaging mirrors the They're Real Mascara, which I'm a big fan of. The eyeliner is a gel formula in a pen applicator with an angled Accuflex tip that helps to 'hug your lashline' so you can get as close to your lashes as you want too. It has a screw cap lid meaning that the gel won't dry out when you close the liner properly.

The bottom of the pen twists up to dispense the eyeliner, it's a creamy but dry and thick formula that will take a lot of getting used to if you aren't used to a gel liner. It's a matte, jet black liner that only needs one coat for a truly opaque finish. The Accuflex tip is slightly flexible with a sharp angle, the tip is very thin so you can create a line as thin or thick as you want too. You can get right up to the lash line and in the inner corner, it also is very easy to do a winged look, something I've always wanted to master!

Some days I use this and find it so quick and simple that I could cry with happiness, other days it can be a bit more tricky if I get the amount of liner I twist up wrong. The easiest way to apply the liner is by using small strokes across the lid instead of trying to do one fluid line. My first few attempts were quite messy so it's definitely a practice makes perfect thing, the more I am using it the more I am loving it.

My favourite thing about this is how long it lasts, I can put this on at 7am and it isn't going to go anywhere til when I take it off! The photo above was actually taken 6 hours after I applied it. Once it's applied it isn't going to budge or move around unless you make a deliberate attempt to smudge it (which you'd need to be firm to do!) They're Real Mascara is known for being hard to remove but I don't have any problems with getting this off.

For eyeliner pro's this is going to be one of the best products to come out of 2014 but for newbies this may also be a good place to delve into the eyeliner world.

The Benefit They're Real Eyeliner costs £18.50 and is out officially June 28th but might have sneaked onto counters already.
Will you be trying the They're Real Push Up Liner?

Disney Quiz

As you are reading this I am on my way to the city of love for the weekend to spend time with my future hubby, Harry Styles! Okay so he doesn't know any of this... but I'm in Paris for the weekend to see the sights and let the fan girl inside me loose again at the 1D concert! Very excited to see it in Paris after how amazing it was at Wembley. I've always wanted to go to Paris, I can't wait to do all the touristy things like eat lots of crepes and see the Eiffel Tower!

If you haven't seen the fun Disney Quiz I filmed with Charlotte from Lilmisschickas and you want to test your Disney knowledge then give it a watch. It was definitely fun to film!

It would be amazing if you fancied subscribing to my YouTube channel. I'm hoping to vlog Paris and share the weekend with you.
Au revoir for now!

Urban Decay Naked Palette £37

The Urban Decay Naked Palettes are so hyped and coveted that I'm surprised it took me so long to purchase one! The original Naked palette has actually been out for four years and now has two 'sister palettes' in Naked 2 and Naked 3. There are so many affordable dupes of the Naked Palette available that I convinced myself I didn't need the original, until I had some Debenhams vouchers to spend!

Along with the 12 shadows there is a mini Primer Potion and a good quality flat brush that is great for applying shadow all over the lid. The only thing I'm not keen on is the felt type material on the palette casing, I just have a thing about this sort of material (cotton wool, velvet etc *cringe*) but it's not really a problem just a personal preference.

Virgin - A shimmery nude great for highlighting the inner corner of the eye and brow bone. I love wearing this on it's own all over the lid for a bright every day look.
Sin - A pink/champagne shimmery that is more frosty than Virgin. I like to really blend this out to get a subtle sheen on it's own or to layer it over other shadows to increase the sparkle factor!
Naked - A matte light beige-brown tone that I like to use as a base shadow or as a soft crease contour. It also looks lovely worn on it's own when I fancy a simple matte look.

Sidecar - A shimmer rose gold shade with a mix of brown. It's so pretty and one of the shadows I use the most because of how versatile it is.
Buck - A slightly darker version of Naked. When blended together Buck and Naked make a lovely neutral smokey eye. I also like using this through the crease.
Half Baked - A gorgeous golden-copper brown, it looks stunning with any of the shades from the palette. It's perfect for day or night looks and is definitely one of my favourite shadows ever.

Smog - A dark bronze shimmer that pairs well with Half Baked for a deep smokey/glitzy look. I like to use a small amount through the crease and in my outer corner to add some depth.
Dark Horse - Also works really well through the crease and outer corner of the eye, it's a dark chocolate brown with gold flecks that isn't too shimmery.
Toasted - A deep rose-gold shade that blends really well to add a slightly different take on a bronze look. Really pretty with a shimmer/frost finish.

Hustle - A rich brown with plum tones and a hint of rose gold. It works really well for a more intense smokey eye or in the crease and outer corner.
Creep - A dark black with silver shimmer that is great for a smudy liner look or deepening a smokey look. It's really versatile and great for evening looks.
Gunmetal - The only shade I don't really use. It's a blue/silver/grey mix that is very shimmery and dramatic. It is perfect for creating a unique and smokey look.

All the shades are soft and buttery, blend incredibly well and are very pigmented. They last all day on me even without a primer and I personally haven't experienced any fall out from any of the shadows.
I've tried many dupes from different price points but since getting this I barely use them. I really think this is worth the money if you love these sort of tones. I don't think I've used one make up item so much ever!
You can definitely live without it if you have tried and love a cheaper dupe, but I think some things are worth treating yourself too and with this you can't beat the original.

If you have the money and know you'll use it then I think this is worth the investment. Now I am lusting over Naked 3.
Do you own any of the Naked Palettes?

outfit | creme de la creme

jumper*- wearall.com
jeans- asos
bag*- zatchels

I was going to post this last week but then it felt weird to blog an outfit so unsummery with the nice weather we had, but in true English tradition it's back to being cold and raining today. I've said it before but I seem to be obsessed with black and white lately, I'm still not ready to embrace the brighter colours for the hopefully better season.

Slogan tops and jumpers have been really popular this year and I really like this 'Creme De La Creme' one from wearall.com, it's getting me in the mood for my trip to Paris this weekend! It's the sort of jumper I can throw on with jeans, shorts or anything really and feel comfy and ever so slightly like I've tried to be on trend. Definitely check out wearall.com if you are looking for some bargains!
If you haven't heard of Zatchels before then make sure you check out their website as they have an amazing range of bags in a huge collection of styles and colours. My newest love is the 11.5inch Pastel Cream satchel, the quality is incredible and it's size makes it great for carrying around just the essentials. I cannot recommend Zatchels enough if you are looking to invest in a handbag that you want to last forever.

Are you a monochrome or bright coloured fan?

Review | Vera Wang Princess

 Vera Wang Princess Fragrance

The Disney obsession means I'm drawn to anything Princess related, my longing for this perfume has been ongoing since it first came out! Princess by Vera Wang has been instore for a few years and there are now different versions of it out such as Princess Power, I received the original Princess perfume for Christmas and have been in love with it ever since!

I love the packaging and the lilac coloured liquid. It really does look very 'princessey' and romantic with the heart shaped bottle. I love the fact that the top is in two parts and can be worn as rings if you wanted, I really do like the crown!

The scent is just stunning, I am addicted too it. It's definitely become one of my favourite perfumes. It's a fresh fragrance with the perfect mix of fruity, sweet and floral notes. It's a strong scent that lasts but it isn't overpowering or sickly. I'm known for liking really sweet and young fragrances but this is quite grown up and makes me feel special and not just cause of the Princess name! With notes of pink guava, waterlily and vanilla, it makes for a really playful, sexy and quite enchanting scent that I really love.

Because it has been around for a while now it isn't expensive to pick up, the 100ml bottle is just £25 here!
I will definitely be repurchasing this when the sad day comes that I run out, it's just so lovely!

Have you tried Vera Wang Princess?

Review | Degustabox May 2014

We all know about beauty subscription boxes but have you ever heard of a food one? Imagine getting a delivery of food treats at your door every month. Basically heaven right? Degustabox is a monthly subscription service that costs £12.99 per box including delivery. Food is basically the love of my life (minus Disney and Hazza Styles) so the idea of getting a box filled with things to eat and drink basically made me very excited.

I was kindly sent the May Degustabox, which arrived by courier. The delivery service was great, I was sent an email to confirm when it would arrive and then a text on the day with the hour time slot it would arrive. Everything was packaged safely but not excessively. It was like Christmas diving into that box!
I've already made my way through most of the box and have really enjoyed trying out some new things.

The first thing I pulled out was the Cawston Press Cloudy Apple, it was so tasty! It's blended apples with added fizz without anything artificial. It's not too sweet and tasted so good. I'll definitely be buying this again.
Next are two bottles of Hornsby's Cider, I really liked the Strawberry and Lime flavour but am not keen on pear so will be giving this away. It's refreshing drink and perfect for BBQ's but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to buy it.

The Garofalo pasta was well appreciated as I eat pasta all the time, having a new brand to try is very exciting (yep I love food that much) and I'm sure I will love it.
To go with the pasta was a Tomato Puree and a Passata sauce, these are cupboard essentials in our kitchen anyway and will probably be used in some sort of pasta dish!

I'm not a granola fan but my Nan loved this 'On The Go' pouch by Lizi's Granola. She took it to work with her for lunch and really liked it, it's a handy thing to keep in your desk if you like that sort of thing.
I love the Elizabeth Shaw Dark Chocolate Crunch Sticks, they are perfect for satisfying a sugar or chocolate craving and because of the dark cocoa you only need a couple before you feel like you've had enough. Amazing for someone like me who can eat stupid amounts of chocolate in one go!
The Kettle Lightly Salted Sweet Potato crisps are new and will be something I buy forever. I loved them, they are healthier than usual crisps and baked instead of fried so I don't feel as guilty when eating them. I love the flavour and will be using the £1 off voucher that came in the box to buy another bag asap!

I tried out the RAW Chewing Gum which claims to boost energy but personally didn't like the flavour of but it found it's way into my Nan's handbag quite easily.
The Dr Oetker Cake Release Spray seems like a great idea and will be made use of the next time I fancy baking.
The last thing in the box was a box of Taylors of Harrogate Blackberry and Elderflower tea, I'm not a tea drinker but my Dad took this off my hands happily and loves it.

Overall I am really impressed with the contents of the May Degustabox, everything has been or will be enjoyed by someone and I've found a few new things that I will be repurchasing again and again!
This months box works out as much more than the subscription cost of £12.99.
You can save £3 off your first box with the code 1ITN6!

Would you like a food subscription box?

The People's ID Bot

Someone close to me recently went through a horrible case of identity fraud and since then it's been something I take very seriously as I've seen how much stress and damage it can cause.
Identity fraud is where someones personal information is stolen and used to commit fraud. A family friend was at the receiving end of this when someone stole their information to open several credit cards in their name, took out loans and racked up a lot of debts.

Our lives and information are now more public than ever with the internet and social media being such a big part of our lives, it's scary to think how accessible we can be to people who might be looking to steal information or how easy it is for cyber criminals to find out things about us.
The clever people at Experian have created the IdentityProtect bot to help people to stay safe online. It constantly scans the web to make sure your information has not been stolen or is not being used illegally. It alerts you instantly if you are at risk, it basically does the worrying for you 24/7. The IdentityProject bot protects your important information like bank details, credit card numbers, passport number, addresses and more. There are also lots of guides and helpful information to prevent and resolve any problems you could have. I think it's a great idea and have signed up myself for a free trial to see how I get on with it, sign up for yours here.

There is also a Facebook page which is a great community full of news, stories and information to help you stay safe online. I just watched a video on the page about how easy it is to convince strangers you know them just by searching their names on the internet! I 100% recommend having a read of the Facebook page as it's got some great information on there.

I know this post is a bit different for the sort of stuff I talk about, but I was offered the chance to find out more about the website and think it's something that people should think more about as I've seen first hand the damage Identity Fraud causes. It's definitely something that I need to consider more with what I share online!

I've very kindly been given 10 vouchers for 1 year subscriptions to the service to giveaway. If you'd be interested in one then leave your contact info in the comments and I'll hopefully be in touch!

outfit | my throwback dress

old dress- Topshop
new dress*-  New Look

I was recently offered the chance to be a part of a really fun campaign New Look are running called my Throwback Dress. We all have that one dress in our wardrobe that is our 'go to'... a dress you will never throw away and never lets you down, a dress you rely on to make you look and feel good.
New Look challenged me to find myself a new 'throwback dress' from their gorgeous collection in a bid to make me give my old one a bit of a break.

My old throwback dress was a bargain in the Topshop sale about 18 months ago, I paid £10 for it and have worn it so many times I couldn't even tell you! It's an incredibly soft jersey material that is really comfy and I think flatters my figure. It's the sort of thing I've worn casual, smart and for a night out. I really love it and have definitely got my money's worth from it, however I think it's going to the back of my wardrobe for a while!

I have a new love of my life in the form of this gorgeous peach floral dress kindly sent to me by New Look. It's 100% going to be my go to for Summer and my new throwback dress, I love floral prints and pastel colours so you can imagine the love I felt when I saw this and it's a bargain at £19.99! I really love the print and the fit of the dress. I am usually stuck in a dark colour rut so I am glad my new throwback dress is one with lovely colours to brighten up my outfits! It's a lightweight material that will be great for keeping cool if we get any heat but also great for layering up in the colder (usual) weather. I can tell I will be wearing this dress a lot and that it's going to be the dress I pick for basically any occasion!

Are you a fan of my new throwback dress?

Review | Barry M Limited Edition Summer Nail Paints

Barry M Limited Edition Summer Nail Pain
Barry M Limited Edition Summer Nail PainBarry M Limited Edition Summer Nail Pain

Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paints* £3.99 each

Barry M are at the top of their game at the moment, they keep bringing out so many releases that I am absolutely loving. Summer is almost here and to celebrate Barry M have created four super cute limited edition nail polishes that are perfect for the season. I absolutely love the monochrome heart detailing on the bottles, it's nice to see something different to the colours of the polishes and they look so cute sitting on my dressing table.

Bikini and Carousel will be exclusive to Boots, whilst Seaside and Promenade are exclusive to Superdrug. It's like a beauty lover's version of Pokemon cards where I feel like we have to catch them all!

Bikini is my favourite of the bunch, it's a glossy, creme finish and is opaque from two coats. It's a gorgeous mix of blue and lilac that sways slightly more to the purple side. It's just gorgeous and very pigmented.
Carousel is a lovely coral with a slight gold shimmer that doesn't show up well on the swatch. It's much more of an orange coral than pink and is a shade I will get a lot of wear out of this summer. This would look stunning with a tan (not that I ever get one!)

Seaside really does remind me of the ocean, mermaids and all things beachy. It's a metallic blue with a pretty shimmery finish. It looks gorgeous when it catches the light and would be lovely for a tropical getaway. It takes three coats to get an opaque finish.
Promenade is a bright Barbie like pink that also has a metallic and shimmery finish. It's a really Summery shade that would be lovely on your toes. It again needs three coats to be opaque but it's really worth it.

Barry M polishes are my favourite from the high street as they apply really easily and last well for the price. For just £3.99 a bottle it's worth picking them all up!
The Superdrug polishes are available now and the Boots polishes will be avaliable from the 11th of June. Obviously they are limited so don't wait around if you are interested!

New Beauty Bits!

I was recently contacted by the lovely team at Chemist Direct and offered the chance to pick a few beauty bits to test out. Being a beauty lover (addict), finding a new place to stock up on treats is always a good thing. You need to head straight over to Chemist Direct to have a browse as they have a great range of brands and really good prices. My items arrived by courier about 36 hours after my order was placed. Everything was individually packaged in bubble wrap safely but not excessively so I was very happy!
I spent about two hours browsing Chemist Direct creating a huge wish list of things I have wanted to try for a very long time, they have some of my favourite brands and others I have always wanted to test out.

Essie Mint Candy Apple has been on my wish list for as long as I can remember but for some reason I have never picked it up, so when I saw it on Chemist Direct I knew a love affair was about to begin! It looks like the perfect mint green polish and I am probably going to wear it all summer long.
I've heard only fab things about the Vichy range and was excited to spot the Dermablend Corrective Foundation on the website (and cheaper than the RRP!) I have used it a couple of times so far and am really liking it. It's a very light weight foundation that has a high coverage that will pretty much cover everything you want.
My last pick was a fragrance that I've always wanted to try but only worked it's way back up to the top of my list after my new obsession with Gossip Girl and girl crush on Leighton Meester. Lovestruck by Vera Wang is a sweet and floral scent that is right up my street. The bottle is just stunning and the fragrance even more so.

I'll be featuring everything I was kindly sent from Chemist Direct soon but wanted to introduce you to the website as they have so many amazing brands and a lot of good offers too!
Have you ordered from Chemist Direct?
