outfit #mcm | you must be fireproof

boots*- New Look                                               mens boots

Who is your ultimate man crush? For me it's an easy question, so when New Look asked me to take part in their Man Crush Monday (#mcm) campaign it took seconds for me to decide who my look was based on. You are probably aware of my Harry Styles love, he just beats Robert Pattinson to my number one spot. To celebrate the relaunch of New Look's menswear range I picked two pieces from the womenswear range that are staples in Harry's (and my) wardrobe!

Hazza is pretty much always in a checked shirt, ripped jeans, boots and some sort of beanie. A checked shirt and boots are fashion staples for both men and women all year round but especially as the weather starts to get colder. I love outfits like this where you can layer to keep warm and it's kind of an effortless look to put together.

I've linked my two New Look picks for womenswear as well as an entire outfit from the menswear range. If you've got a man crush and you fancy recreating their look on yourself or on an actual man in your life then check out New Look as they're on the ball with their ranges!

Event | Superdry Fashion Night Out

This week saw Vogue's Fashion Night Out take place in London, something that would usually have me running for my pjs and Netflix as we all know I'm not great at fashion! I don't know much about FNO but Regent Street and Oxford Street were jam packed with trendy people, stores were hosting events and parties, and the place had a real buzz (I don't just mean the typical rush hour/sweaty buzz that happens from 6pm onwards each day!)

I was kindly invited by Superdry to head to their awesome Regent Street store to check out their AW collection and I spent far too long lusting after lots of pieces from the range. I'll admit before attending the event I did think Superdry was only for comfy tshirts and casual bits but I was completely wrong! They've got everything covered from warm winter coats to sparkly party skirts and stunning leather jackets. I've got a huge wishlist going on right now!

In my opinion any event that has a pick and mix table is instantly amazing, in fact the Superdry sweets table was so good that I completely forgot to take a picture as I was too busy stuffing my face with milk bottles. MTV presenter Lilah Parsons was on hand for AW styling advice, don't worry I saved her the stress of attempting to style me, we had a chat about her monogrammed Superdry jacket, she was lovely and completely gorgeous. There was also live music by cute duo The Fireflies who were really soulful and easy to listen to.

I was really kinded gifted an item from the Superdry AW collection and went for a super warm parka that is going to change my life as I am constantly cold from October to March. It's incredibly well made, fully lined, has a super soft faux fur lining on top and a hood with detachable faux fur. I love everything about this coat and am slightly excited for the freezing temperatures because I know for once I'll be nice and snug!

A massive thanks to Superdry for having me, I had a great evening!

Review | Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in AudaciousRevlon Colorburst Matte Balm in AudaciousRevlon Colorburst Matte Balm in AudaciousRevlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Audacious

I've always been a fan of chubby lip products as they are pretty low maintenance and easy to apply. When the original Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains launched I bought almost every shade and still use them a lot. When I was in Orlando last October the new Colorburst Lacquer and Matte balms were launching and I knew that it was the start of a love affair.

I own a few of the Colorburst balms in both matte and lacquer shades so will probably be featuring them in the future when I'm addicted to a certain shade. My current favourite is the lovely Audacious, it reminds me a lot of MAC Morange, which is one of my all time favourite lip products.

The Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms have the same twist up style that all these type of products have. I love that the tube has a matte finish to match the product, it's the little things in life that please me!

Audacious is the sort of shade I'd call my 'go to' or foolproof lip colour. Whenever I'm not sure what shade to wear I go for an orangey red tone as I think it compliments my skin and looks great with any other make up I wear. Audacious is a bright orange coral with a slight red tint and in some lights the tiniest hint of pink, it's going to look different depending on skin tone but on me it's about 80% orange and 20% red.

The finish isn't completely matte and has a slight velvet texture. You have to prep your lips before applying as it will cling to dryness, I use a LUSH lipscrub or buff off any flakey patches (yum) with my special toothbrush, I actually have a spare toothbrush especially for lip exfoliating... Is that weird? I then apply a lip balm to make my lips a more moisturised and comfortable base.

Audacious is incredibly pigmented and one coat is enough for full coverage colour but you can blend or pat it down for a less intense colour. Like the Kissable Balm Stains there is a slight smell and taste of mint that I really like.
The lasting power on this is just fab. I love how it fades off evenly to a stain through the day and if you want a more intense colour then you can just easily top it up. I only need to reapply once if I'm out all day.

I'm a big fan of Audacious but might have to hide it for a while so some of my other shades get some love too. I wouldn't actually say that the Colorburst Balms feel like a balm but they are a lighter texture than a lipstick and are definitely worth trying out!
Have you tried the Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms?

Tips to save money when online shopping

Apart from The Sims, YouTube and Netflix, the ability to shop from the comfort of my own home (bed) is one of my favourite things about the internet! To be honest it's very rare that I'll buy things on the high street unless I'm heading to Primark, most of my shopping is done online as there are always discounts and vouchers available to make it cheaper. Who wouldn't want to save money whilst not even having to leave the house?

There are lots of ways to save money when shopping online but something I always do is check for discount vouchers, deals and codes to reduce the total cost of my shopping. I always check if there is a discount available before purchasing something online, whether it's fashion, technology, travel or ordering a takeaway because there is little worse than finding you could have saved some money after you've spent it!

One of my favourite websites that I use to find discounts is voucherful.co.uk. I like a website that has all the discounts in one place and is updated regularly so you can find the best savings. voucherful.co.uk lists all the latest and best offers from discount codes to sales in a website that's simple to use and has a huge range of brands. You can search by store if you are after something specific or by general category like travel. You can also search by what you are looking to purchase, I've been searching for 'flights' regularly as I need to book them for Disney World next year!

Another way to save is to use cashback websites. I've only recently found out about them and am now trying to get myself in the habit of using them whenever I buy something. Cashback websites are simple to use and can earn you back a decent amount of money. You sign up to the website then click through the link and purchase, depending on the percentage of cashback you can earn a little back back that can be put into future sales funds (or save!)

My final online shopping tip is to make sure you are signed up to your favourite brands loyalty schemes. Brands reward shoppers whether it's with exclusive discounts or points to spend back in store so making sure you are maximising the offers and collecting your rewards can save money or earn you some to use again. Whether it's a points card or just signing up to a database it's worth doing so you are first to know about discounts and offers!

What's your number one online shopping tip?

Review | Barry M Autumn/Winter 2014 Gelly Nails

You probably know how much I love the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints as I've featured the different collections a few times. The polishes are really affordable, fairly long lasting and chip resistant, pigmented and have a gorgeous glossy finish. For the price I really love them, the shade range is very extensive and it's great that they are adding to it each season.

The new Autumn and Winter shades have just launched and are themed around earthy tones and named after different spices.

Chilli- A deep red shade with a tiny hint of a brown tone, it's a lovely change from the bright shades I think of for red polishes. It's a perfect red for the colder months and a must have from the collection for every skin tone!

Paprika- A rusty burnt orange shade that sometimes looks orange and sometimes brown. It's very warming and really is a great shade for the colder months. It's a nice mix if you aren't sure whether to go for a red or brown.

Mustard- This is the shade that seems to be everywhere for Autumn! I do really love this but am not convinced it looks too good with my super pale skin but that won't stop me wearing it. It's a very warm toned and rich yellow.

Cardamom- I've never ventured to far into green nail polish as I find it a hard shade to pull off and can be quite high maintenance. Cardamom is a lovely mossy green that I'll actually try to use a lot this Autumn.

Cocoa- This is literally like melted chocolate in a bottle, it's one of the standouts from the collection for me. It's a warm, deep and rich brown that looks very 'grown up' and almost edible!

Chai- This is the shade that surprised me the most as I did think it was a tad boring, however grey is actually one of my favourite colours and almost all I wear for clothes! It's the perfect grey and definitely a nail staple.

As always I cannot pick a favourite as they are each great in their own way but I'm sure Mustard will get a lot of attention this season as I've not seen anything like it before!
The Autumn/Winter Barry M Gelly Nail Paints are in Boots and Superdrug now, £3.99 each.

August Degustabox

Degustabox time is possibly my favourite part of the month, who wouldn't love a surprise box of food goodies arriving on their doorstop? Degustabox is a monthly subscription box that costs £12.99 incl delivery, you can cancel at any time with no worries. Products are picked to suit your tastes and it's literally like Christmas when it arrives!

The first things I pulled out the box were the Brioche Pasquier Pains au Lait and Pains au Chocolat. I love the Pains au Chocolat as they are individually wrapped and are great for breakfast on the go. I'll be repurchasing these a lot but definitely for my Disney trips to take into the parks! (I can relate everything to Disney.) The Pains au Lait are sweet breads that are nice toasted with jam.

Lindt is one of my favourite chocolate brands so this cute heart tin contained 10 creamy chocolates also shaped like hearts, They magically disappeared within a few minutes, there was no way I could eat just one!
Since receiving the Degustabox each month myself and my Nan have started to bake a lot more so I know these edible cupcake cases from Dr Oetker are a fab idea that we will be putting to use and eating soon.

Schwartz Flavour Shots are little pots that you add to dishes to make them even more yummy, I received flavours Mexican Fajitas and Spanish Smoked Paprika Chicken. The pots have oil, herbs and spices in them and it's an easy way to spice up a meal. I'm excited to try the fajitas shot!
The bag of Mexican Dave's Lightly Salted Tortilla Chips were devoured the day the box arrived and were super tasty, they would have been better with a dip but there is no patience in my house when it comes to chips!

I'm not a fan of drinks with tea in but my Nan really liked the Berry White organic drink that was the White Goji Berries with Peaches, White Tea and Echinacea flavour. It's not something up my street but I can understand why others like it.
Two other drinks in the box that my Nan is looking forward to having are the Fever Tree Ginger Beer and Tonic Water, she loves both of these so I'm sure she will enjoy them both.

I'm not really a drinker but I do love a cocktail and already know I love the Caribbean Twist Strawberry Daiquri! It's fruity and super sweet, it would be perfect if there is a chance for one moreBBQ before Autumn properly starts.

There is a new scheme called 'Degustabox Fridge' that will be included in boxes from now on, the voucher will be for a chilled item. This months voucher was for a MOMA Bircher Muesli Pot that can be redeemed in Sainsburys or Waitrose. I'll definitely be using the voucher next time I'm in one of those supermarkets.

The August Degustabox is my absolute favourite so far and I've found lots of new food favourites that I'll continue to buy again and again!
If you fancy signing up to Degustbox here is a £3 discount code for you: 0LAO0

Boots Beauty Haul

Yesterday I 'fell' into Boots, this lot 'fell' in my basket and my card 'fell' in the machine. £48 later, I had a tiny amount of regret but this lot should have cost around £80 and I got triple Boots points so really it was a bargain (justification!)
There were quite a offers on across most brands so I decided to pick up a few bits I'd wanted to try for a while and a couple of new releases. I think some of the offers are different in stores and online but if there is anything you are longing to try out now may be a good time, not that I'm an enabler!

I only went in for a couple more of the Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stains after featuring them here and loving them. I went for Miami Fever and LA Exclusive, if you haven't tried these yet definitely go have a swatch as the shade range is lovely! Revlon eyes, lips and nails were buy one get one half price.

Soap & Glory was also buy one get one half price. I swatched the Supercat Eyeliner Pen and it was very pigmented so it went in the basket. After the hype I've wanted to try the Archery Brow Tint and Pencil but it was sold out, I went with the Archery Pencil and Brush. I've never used an eyebrow pencil but I'll definitely keep an eye out for the Archery Tint too.

Seventeen was buy one get one half price and I'd been meaning to pick up the Phwoarr Paint Concealer (cringy name) as I've heard good reviews and comparisons to Benefit Erase Paste. I wasn't too sure what other product to go for so went for the Skin Wow Highlighter that says it can be used as a primer but I'll probably stick with using this as a liquid highlighter.

L'Oreal, also buy one get one half price, was my last stop and they had a lovely woman on counter as a brand ambassador. I needed a new matte bronzer and saw the Glam Bronze duo with a highlighter. I haven't bought a new foundation in ages and loved the rose gold bottle of the Lumi Magique. It's a light infusing and hydrating foundation that I'm really looking forward to trying.
The L'Oreal ambassador kindly gave me a Dress Like Diamonds gift set which they used as a Christmas offer which had a full size mascara, lipstick and nail polish along with a moisturiser sample and two sachets of BB creams.

It's safe to say I'll be staying away from the shops for a while!
If there are any products you'd like me to do a full post on please let me know in the comments.
Have you splurged on any beauty bits lately?

Primark Haul August 2014

It happened again, I fell into Primark and left with things I'm still not sure if I needed...
I'm going to try and stay away during September but I give it a week before I'm back in there checking out the latest Disney additions. Primark are too on the ball with their Disney bits, I can't not pick everything up when I go in there!

It would be fab if you fancied subscribing to my YouTube channel here!
Are you a bit addicted to Primark too?
